Berlin fashion week has reminded me of my 'slightly' overdue post on my wee trip to Berlin! I'm ever so 'slightly' indulging myself here, it did take place in October, but as they say, better late than never! The lovely Zoe was my partner in crime, she had some buying to do for her online vintage store Horse and June. We managed to kinda strike a balance between work and play, that being said the scale definitely weighed more on the play side!
We scored ourselves an awesome apartment in Kreuzberg, which is a cool little neighbourhood with a rake of cafes and restaurants. Our favourite eatery by a long shot though was Burger Meister, it was located under the railway bridge at Kreuzberg. We both agreed the burgers were up there with the best we've ever had. In saying that, the number of beers we'd consumed in advance of any of our trips there (and there were three in total!) could have had something to do with our mega star rating!
A couple of stops on the Metro from Kreuzberg was the borough of Neukolln. We'd planned to check out an exhibition there one of the evenings but when we arrived, the gallery appeared shut. So we decided we'd pop across to the wine store over the road to check if we were in the right spot. I don't know about anybody else, but the world feels like it's getting smaller? While there we bumped into some peeps from home and ended up getting proper acquainted with the borough of Neukolln that night. There's a cool little vibe in Neukolln, it's somewhere I'd definitely make time for next time I'm in Berlin.
Outside of all our eating and drinking, we managed to find time to check out some vintage stores that had been recommended to us. We weren't disappointed! Hands down my favourite was Garments. I reckon a Summer trip to Berlin is definitely on the cards! I've only ever made it there during the Winter months and feel it's my duty to give it the once over come Summer time!
I took some snaps along the way, don't you just love how Instagram makes you look like a semi above average amateur photographer!

Canines Stealing the Show...
So The Artist was a big winner at last night's Golden Globes. I'm thinking nine year old Jack Russell Uggie stole the show in the silent movie. Although Uggie had no chance to show off his vocal range in the film, he did get to show off his ability to play dead, walk on his hind legs and bury his head in his paws. He's so fricken cute! He dickied up very nicely indeed for ceremony night!
However, I didn't think the pure wonderfulness of Cosmo the dog in the film Beginners could be beaten! The Jack Russell terrier played Arthur, dog friend of central character Hal, played stupendously might I add by Christopher Plummer. Uggie versus Cosmo, the jury is still out for me but those lads are setting the bar high for fellow canine actors!
Lastly, lest I forget, I've never been able to get my head around why people buy dogs when there's so many crying out for homes in rescue shelters, so I was really happy when I learnt that both Cosmo and Uggie were rescued by their families!
